Interactive Filtering
You can now create powerful interactive filters that prompt users for specific values when a filter is applied. The Interactive Filter Wizard quickly guides users through selecting criteria for each interactive filter restriction.

More Options for Filtering Users and Customers
Do you need to see a list of issues found by a specific department, such as the development group? New filter restriction options enable you to filter user type fields by security group and company information, including division and department.

Share Filters with Security Groups
Filters can also now be shared with specific security groups. Instead of cluttering filter lists with public filters that only some groups need, you can restrict access based on security groups.

Powerful Test Variant Field Codes
Easily generate customized test runs by inserting test variant field codes into test steps. When you generate test runs, field codes are automatically replaced with the variant values.

Easily Search For and Select Users
If you have a large number of TestTrack users, it can be difficult to find the right person. Do you need to include Mary Smith from QA or Mary Smith from development? You can use the new division and department fields to easily differentiate between users with the same first and last name. You can also quickly sort users based on division or department when assigning records, emailing, or performing user maintenance.

Switch from View to Edit Mode with One Click
The defect, test case, and test run View windows now provide one-click access to edit records. If you are viewing a record that needs changes, click the Edit button to instantly switch to Edit mode.

Additional Usability Enhancements
TestTrack Studio 2008.2 also includes enhancements to the send mail dialog, a new Find button on the Users and Customers list windows, and additional usability enhancements. View the release notes for for a complete list.
64-bit TestTrack Server
Take advantage of the additional usable memory available in a 64-bit Windows environment with the new 64-bit TestTrack Server. If you have large projects or store multiple projects on a single TestTrack Server, the 64-bit server (initially supported for SQL Server projects in Windows) increases the maximum available memory from 2GB to 8 terabytes.
Web Client Performance Improvements
A new TestTrack project option significantly improves Web client performance for projects that contain a large number of users and customers.
Cross-Server Web Login
The TestTrack Web client supports cross-server logins, which allows users to connect to multiple TestTrack servers with a single login. The TestTrack Web CGI can scan multiple servers to determine the projects that are available to users, making it much easier for users to quickly switch projects without needing to know which server a project is on.
Enhancements for Administrators
TestTrack Studio 2008.2 also includes the following features to provide administrators with greater flexibility and additional security options:
- Enhanced Seapine License Server administration with improved performance when managing large numbers of users, including bulk field changes on users.
- Support for retrieving division and department data from LDAP saves time and improves accuracy of user data.
- New security commands to control the visibility of security group information.
- Administrators are now warned when modifying a filter that is used by an automation rule or report.
